Waterfront Coffee Company

Walking by the water is good energy so I try to get down to the Edmonds waterfront whenever I can to stretch my legs. It’s also a good way for me to work through sections of the book with which I’m struggling.

One of my great finds was the Waterfront Coffee Company. This is a small, family owned business that offers coffee, pastries, sandwiches and ice cream. Literally across the street from the Washington State Ferry loading area, this place is a stopover for people getting on and off the boat.

I have worked on my book at Waterfront, but more often, I do journaling there while having breakfast. There’s something about the energy of people taking the ferry that just feels good. People use the ferry to commute to work and back, come over from the island for a shopping trip, or just as a way to get away for the weekend.

This is also a great community drop in spot. People on walks with their dogs will grab a latte or espresso and a treat for their dog. There are two walls covered with snapshots taken by the staff of people and their canine friends to the Waterfront.

The staff is always a delight to talk with. And they are often busy with the ebb and flow of people from and to the ferry.

Great coffee and I recommend the black bean breakfast burrito! Although the maple bar is always tempting!

When you’re in Edmonds, stop by the Waterfront Coffee Shop. Bring your dog. And your journal. You might just get inspired! 🙂
